Un soffio ti può salvare la vita (A breath can save your life) was created with the aim of combating Saturday night accidents due to alcohol abuse.
The Carabinieri of the Turin Provincial Command and the Specchio dei tempi Foundation have developed a joint project to reduce risks by scheduling a series of garrisons, mainly in nightlife areas or at discos and nightclubs.
Young people who wish to do so can undergo alcohol testing, so as to ascertain their condition before driving.
The initiative has been extended to the city of Turin with the use of the SpecchioBus (a mobile clinic), the availability of a volunteer doctor and alcohol tests donated by FederFarma. Carabinieri provide logistical support and, together with Specchio volunteers, raise awareness among young people about the risks of drunk driving, inviting them to take the test.
