SPECCHIO DEI TEMPI, A FOUNDATION THAT LOOKS FAR AHEAD

In recent years, our foundation, born in Turin and deeply rooted in the Piedmont region, has gradually extended its intervention outside the region. We have done so, as always, driven by emergencies, but with an increasingly structured, lasting and concrete approach.

Among the most significant experiences of this path is certainly that of Arquata del Tronto, hit hard by the 2016 earthquake. We intervened a few hours after the tragedy and since then we have worked alongside the community, contributing to the construction of the school-now named after our foundation-and staying in the area with projects to support families, children, and local businesses. We have not limited ourselves to immediate intervention: we have stayed. And it is precisely in continuity that we believe true social impact is measured.

The same approach guided us in Sri Lanka, where after the devastating tsunami of 2004 we remained active for more than 15 years. There, too, our response did not stop at the first emergency, but accompanied the population with structural and lasting initiatives to help an entire country recover from a condition of chronic poverty.

With this vision, for a number of years we initiated the “Specchio d'Italia” project, created to replicate our model of intervention in other cities and regions. Milan, Rome, Genoa, the northern regions during the Covid emergency: in each of these contexts we brought concrete programs to support the elderly, families, and schools.

Today the Specchio d'Italia project is formally over, but the work and values that animated it remain alive and continue to inspire the actions of Specchio dei tempi. It was a conscious choice to bring all activities back under the historical identity of our foundation, keeping our national and international commitment intact.

Because we believe that the strength of Specchio dei tempi lies not in names or labels, but in the ability to be there. Wherever it is needed. With concrete projects, long-term vision and, above all, with a presence that does not quit.
